BSCTC

Mayo Technical and Prestonsburg Community Colleges has merged and renamed into Big Sandy Community & Technical College (BSCTC). BSCTC is a member of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). KCTCS is a system of technical and community colleges which coordinates efforts to train the workforce of tomorrow. Together with Area Technology Centers and local high schools, both colleges provide a smooth transition from secondary to postsecondary education and beyond. Students who begin in the high school programs can earn credits toward a postsecondary education certificate, diploma or degree.

Nestled in the heart of eastern Kentucky, the Big Sandy Community & Technical College is committed to aggressive and creative efforts to provide area residents a quality, affordable education through traditional and non-traditional delivery systems. Now with the mereger completed, Big Sandy Community & Technical College has been turned into a comprehensive community and technical college. Though diverse in program offerings, they have a common goal to enhance students' opportunities to achieve their education and career goals.
